This is a pretty special wedding to me personally. I have known the lovely Miss Sonia since she was a little girl. I have a photo of her at my house holding my newborn son Kai.....that was over 17 years ago! So when you are privileged to watch this beautiful human being succeed in life then be a part of such an important day, it is a feeling like no other, I was like a proud mama bear! Speaking of proud mama's the other best part about this wedding is I got to plan the whole thing with Sonia's super cool mom, Rachael! Rachael and I had the best time pulling this together (I have severe wedding planning DT's now). She crushed it and Sonia is so lucky to have such supportive, loving, super cool parents! Macky's parents, I soon found out, are right up there as well, amazing families!!!!!!
The ceremony was held at "The Mirador", an exclusive private spot at the top of the highest point in Palmilla. It is a big open 2-level grassy area with a cantera cross and the most spectacular views, it is like getting married in the sky! Seriously......so amazing. And this location needed nothing but the view! It was a beautiful ceremony surrounded by Sonia and Macky's closest family and friends who traveled worldwide to witness and celebrate.
Sonia's gown was stunning! It was made by Stone Cold Fox It hugged every cute curve she has and also had a Mexi, boho vibe that she totally owns! She is a style icon, seriously obsessed with this girls style, she was uber perfect on her wedding day. Pina finished off her look with the perfect dainty wax flower crown and an epic bouquet that only Pina is known for. It was spot on!!!!!!
Speaking of Pina.....we all know she is my go to girl for rentals, flowers and design collaboration so of course she was on board to beautify El Encanto Inn where Sonia and Macky held their reception (FYI you can party till the wee hours of the morning here, locations like this in Cabo are few and far between). This boutique hotel, located in the heart of San Jose Art District, is the perfect spot for a party! We used Pina's wood tables and one of a kind hand dyed runners to compliment the white, green and brassy tones. The lanterns finished the soft glow and Boho look we were going for. And if that wasn't enough..... the most perfect menu, hand painted by her ever so talented hubby Rafael, definitely brought the whole table together. We set the table with my beautiful hand blown smoked amber goblets and voila, perfection! It was so gorgeous, over the top gorgeous......
My friend Victor from VVR hooked me up with a beautiful light install and hung 40 strands of papel picado. He set up the super fun twinkle lit dance floor and stage for the Shaman's to rock out on. These Cabo Kids killed it! They had everyone on the dance floor. My fav part (actually I have two) was when they played a killer rendition of Stolen Dance for Sonia and Macky's first dance. It was epic!!! Everyone ended up on the dance floor by the end of the song because it was just that amazing! Also the bouquet and garter toss. They jammed to the Wipeout and it was so much fun. I love these guys (also know them since they were little ones) and they def know how to get the party going!
This day will forever stand out to me. I am so blessed that I was a part of their beginning in this new journey as a couple. Friends forever!!!! Love you Sonia and Macky. Thanks Rachael for everything, you made it extra fun (and gave me the best thank you card ever!!!!).
Please take a few minutes to watch
